Made in Maine
We support our community and environment through the choices we make everyday — like biking instead of driving, or shopping local at farmers markets. Why should energy be any different? Developed and overseen by the Maine Public Utilities Commission, Maine Green Power offers every Mainer the option to choose energy generated in Maine from sources that replenish themselves naturally — like wind, water, sun or forests. That means when you enroll, you support renewable energy projects in Maine that not only reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, but help grow demand for local renewable energy.
Maine Green Power offers commercial customers the option to purchase Maine-made renewable energy in 500 kWh blocks ($7.50/block) each month to reduce their environmental impact from electricity use and meet their sustainability goals. Marketing benefits are available depending on participation level. Discounts are available for bulk purchases.
Maine Green Power offers residential customers the option to match their electricity use by purchasing Maine-made renewable energy in 500 kWh blocks ($7.50/block) each month. Minimum purchase is 250 kWh half block ($3.75/month) and maximum purchase is four blocks. No contracts. No installation — just an additional charge on your monthly electric bill.
To help continue the growth of Maine Green Power — starting July 1, 2016 — there will be a slight increase in the monthly cost of Maine Green Power.
New prices will include:
